This semester I have chosen to read the novel "All The Bright Places," by Jennifer Niven. When I first heard the title of this book, it made me think of all of the happy places I've been in my life. This title has a positive and optimistic tone about it. Although when I first heard the title my mind went straight to happy settings, it also made me think of happy moments in my life as well. The word bright is a word that can symbolize light and purity, giving this title a comfortable feeling for its readers. I am aware that this is a book of mental instability and has darkness to it, but the title makes me think that this novel will have a positive theme to it as well. I think this book will be well suited for me considering that I have an interest in young adult novels and mental illness, yet I still like to have an optimistic mindset about everything in my life. I found a review on theguardian.com that calls this book "phenomenal" and a "must read." This review also said that this is a book you can remember for a long time after reading it because of how the characters can touch your heart. I am very excited to read this book!

I'm disappointed to see that you haven't kept up with the blog assignments this semester, Jenny. I know that you said you enjoyed the novel so I would have liked to read more about your thoughts on the various assignments you missed: setting, first impressions, characterization, point of view and final thoughts!
